Its founders Thomas and Anna Melendez are the most experienced, established and professional Salsa dance instructors in Cheltenham and Gloucestershire.  They have had four TV appearances including BBC TV's Strictly Dance Fever.  Thomas, Anna and the team have also been invited to teach and DJ in international salsa dance festivals and events. They are also pioneers in a new local and national NHS scheme where students are referred by their GP to salsa del Sol classes.

Thomas Melendez  

BIOGRAPHY

Thomas, from Venezuela is a natural salsa dancer. He learnt Salsa from a young age attending an academy for Latin dance where he was taught by a number of acclaimed dance choreographers. Over the years he has developed his own inimitable and impressive style.  Thomas is passionate about his music and dance encouraging all in his classes to learn, have fun and enjoy the spirit of Latin dancing.

He teaches all styles including: New York Mambo, Cuban and Hip-hop, Reggaeton Bachata and Merengue. His teaching specialisms include leading techniques and men's styling as well as musical interpretation. Thomas is passionate about Salsa & Latin music - he is an accomplished DJ both for salsa music and mainstream pop.

Anna Melendez

BIOGRAPHY

Anna Melendez has danced Salsa for over 11 years and is fully trained in other forms of dance including:ballet, jazz, street and tap. From the age of 6 she attended a dance academy in yorkshire, she was also taught by her sister who is a professional ballet and Jazz dancer.

Her passion for Salsa music stems from her family's strong musical background as her father is a professional musician. Her specialisms are New York ladies' styling, shines, choreography and Bachata.  She is renowned for her clear and accessible teaching techniques.

BIOGRAPHY

Jana …. From Czech Republic has been dancing Salsa and other forms of Latin dance from a very young age.  She studied and took Latin dance formal qualfications in Czech Republic.  She is passionate about Latin dancing and also specialises in teaching cha cha.  Jana teaches the improvers group giving clear instruction in a friendly, fun and supportive manner.
